Agile at scale — frameworks, tradeoffs, and what actually works
ZXM’s Scaled Agile Essentials is a one-day intermediate course covering the major scaled agile frameworks — SAFe, Nexus, and Scrum@Scale — and when to apply each.
Includes a PI Planning simulation so participants experience program-level planning before encountering it in the field. Delivered by practitioners who have implemented and sustained scaled agile programmes across major government and enterprise organisations in APAC.
MORNING
Scaled agile frameworks compared
Why scaling agile is hard and what frameworks exist to address it. Overview of SAFe: Agile Release Trains, PI Planning, program execution, and portfolio management. Overview of Nexus and Scrum@Scale: how they compare and when each applies. Scaled agile roles, responsibilities, and impediment escalation.
AFTERNOON
PI Planning simulation and metrics
Big room planning: a hands-on PI Planning simulation. Program roadmaps, capacity forecasting, and dependency management. Quarterly cadence and team synchronisation events. Metrics, reporting, and feedback cycles at program and portfolio level. Common failure patterns in scaled agile transformations and how to avoid them.

Your question won't be in the textbook. Your trainer's answer shouldn't be either.
ZXM’s trainers have implemented and sustained scaled agile programmes across major government and enterprise organisations in APAC — not as advisors who observe, but as the practitioners responsible for making them work.
ZXM’s lead trainers — Matt and Mia — are SPCs (SAFe Practice Consultants) certified by Scaled Agile Inc., with direct experience as RTEs and ART coaches on large-scale government and enterprise programmes.
