COURSE OVERVIEW
Product Strategy
Strategy without clarity is just aspiration. This course gives product leaders and product managers the frameworks to think strategically, make difficult choices deliberately, and communicate direction in a way that drives alignment.
Over one intensive day, participants develop shared language, work through real-world strategic challenges, and build cross-functional alignment that carries beyond the training room. The course is structured around four in-house sessions — each tackling a distinct dimension of product strategy.
Designed for product leaders, product managers, and the cross-functional teams who need to operate with a shared strategic compass.
PART 1
Strategic Context and Choice
Understanding the landscape your product operates in and making deliberate choices about where to compete. Participants develop a clear picture of customer needs, competitive dynamics, and the strategic bets worth making — and learn how to evaluate trade-offs and commit to a direction with confidence.
PART 2
Alignment and Communication
Building the shared language and operating model that allows strategy to survive contact with execution. Participants develop the narrative skills to communicate product direction clearly at every level — and practice aligning product, engineering, design, and business stakeholders around a common direction.

Strategy is easy to talk about. It is hard to make and harder to hold.
ZXM’s practitioners have advised product leaders and C-suite executives on product strategy and operating model design across government agencies, financial services, and technology organisations. They bring direct experience of the alignment failures, stakeholder pressures, and strategic drift that this course addresses.
ZXM’s lead practitioners — Matt and Mia — have advised C-suite and SES executives on product strategy, portfolio investment decisions, and organisational design across Australia and APAC. This course draws directly from that advisory practice.

Questions about this course
What is product strategy?
Product strategy is the set of deliberate choices that determine where a product competes, what value it creates, and how it is positioned to win. It goes beyond roadmapping to address market positioning, trade-off decisions, and the narrative that aligns an organisation around a shared direction. This course teaches product strategy as a practical discipline — not a planning exercise.
Who should attend this course?
Product Strategy is designed for product leaders setting product direction, senior product managers making prioritisation decisions under competing pressures, and cross-functional teams who need shared strategic alignment. It is particularly useful for organisations where product decisions are frequently overridden by stakeholder pressure or where the team lacks a shared framework for evaluating strategic trade-offs.
Is this course available as a public event?
No. Product Strategy is an in-house-only course. ZXM delivers it on your premises or virtually, across four structured sessions tailored to your organisation’s products and strategic context. There are no public scheduled sessions.
What certification do participants receive?
Participants who complete the course receive a ZXM Certificate of Completion. This course is not affiliated with any external certification body such as Scrum.org or Scaled Agile Inc.
