Master the skills behind an effective Product Backlog
The Product Backlog is the heartbeat of every Scrum Team. When it is well-managed, refined, and transparent, teams deliver value with confidence. When it is a dumping ground of vague items and conflicting priorities, delivery stalls. PS-PBMS gives Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and Developers the hands-on skills to turn a messy backlog into a clear, ordered, and actionable plan — aligned to real product goals.
MORNING
Backlog fundamentals
What makes a good Product Backlog Item, how to write them well, and how transparency in the backlog creates shared understanding across the team and stakeholders.
AFTERNOON
Refinement in practice
Ordering and sizing backlog items, decomposing large work, managing dependencies, and connecting the backlog to Product Goals and measurable outcomes.
AUDIENCE
Who this course is for
This course is for anyone on a Scrum Team who touches the Product Backlog — whether you write it, refine it, or work from it. Product Owners will sharpen their core craft. Scrum Masters will learn to coach better backlog hygiene. Developers will understand how to engage in refinement as active participants, not passive recipients.
The Product Owner
Building the skills to manage, order, and communicate a backlog that actually drives value.
The Scrum Master
Learning to coach effective refinement and help the team maintain a healthy backlog.
The Developer
Engaging in refinement as an active contributor, not just a ticket taker.

Your backlog question won't be in the textbook.
Your trainer's answer shouldn't be either.
ZXM trainers have managed Product Backlogs at every level of scale — from single-team startups to enterprise programmes. They bring real refinement war stories, not theoretical frameworks.
ZXM’s lead trainers — Matt and Mia — are the only two trainers in Australia to hold both Scrum.org PST credentials and deep enterprise delivery experience. They teach what actually works under pressure.
