The SAFe POPM course equips Product Owners and Product Managers to operate effectively inside a SAFe Agile Release Train. Over two days you’ll move from theory to hands-on practice — PI Planning, backlog management, stakeholder prioritisation, and connecting customer needs to the work your teams deliver.
DAY 1
SAFe fundamentals and the ART
SAFe principles, the Agile Release Train, PI Planning mechanics, and your role as PO or PM within the ART. From backlog vision to Feature definition.
DAY 2
Backlog ownership and stakeholder alignment
Team Backlog management, Story writing, refinement techniques, prioritisation methods, and managing dependencies and risks across the value stream.

Product Owners and Product Managers who operate within a SAFe Agile Release Train and need to manage program and team backlogs to optimise value delivery.
Participants receive the SAFe POPM credential from Scaled Agile Inc.
No formal prerequisites required. Experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager is beneficial.
The POPM exam requires a score of 82% to pass. The exam is 90 minutes with multiple-choice questions.
POPM certification requires annual renewal with a minimum of 12 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) per year.
