Zen Ex Machina (ZXM) is looking for a Product Owner Consultant in Canberra Australia, to lead one of our Consultant Scrum Teams.
Everyone at ZXM has three jobs, even our Product Owners.
ZXM’s Product Owners are also master agile practitioners. It means you’re not only the Product Owner, but importantly, also a member of the consultant team.
You must have experience managing budgets of $2M+, writing proposals, and engaging in sales conversations with C-level executives and middle managers on agile.
You must have experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager in a commercial setting. You must have 10+ years of deep, applied, agile experience. You must be a thought leader in the community.
As the Product Owner, you will lead the team as a servant leader by optimising value. Our Product Owners do this for our clients by prioritising work through the Product Backlog.
We're not looking for agile deliver managers or project managers. This is a Product Owner role. You must have 10+ years experience as a Product Owner with experience in large scale agile environments. You'll be teaching, mentoring and coaching our clients' program-level practitioners the art of good Product Ownership at scale.
You need to have an understanding of how to work in and with traditional corporate bureaucracies, including banks, government and other large-scale organisations.
We have a reputation for a very high standard of work. You'll need to be precise and up-to-date in your agile terminology, be able to write to team-level and executive audiences. This includes writing proposals, sales material, as well as blog posts and digital social engagement pieces.
What does working as a Product Owner with a ZXM Consultant Scrum Team look like?
The ZXM team works across dozens of client teams. There's no "my team". You'll triage issues and tackle them with others through working to a backlog.
The team never shy away from hard work. Change is hard. Change at scale is even harder. Seniors help everyone by working in a Scrum Team of consultants.
Our goal is to improve people's way of working, not improve our egos and embed ourselves permanently into a client site.
Agile is always changing, so whether its formal learning or researching new techniques, the team is always growing its knowledge. We expect the same from you.
To support you at work (and play) we offer some great perks: up to 5 weeks off to relax and recharge, an annual allowance to support your learning and growth, a mobile data allowance, a laptop to support mobility across multiple client sites and discounts on Scrum.org certification.
We believe that people’s unique contributions drive ZXM’s success. This is why we never discriminate on the basis of race, religion, national origin, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, or marital, veteran, or physical or mental disability status. We’re stronger together.
