Overview

ZXM’s Kanban Essentials™ is a 1-day course that introduces the concepts of flow, waste, visualisation and workflow practices to agile teams. Not a methodology, Kanban is a tool for optimising the flow of work that can be applied to any workflow or process. During this course, attendees will learn:

  • What is Kanban
  • Creating workflow rules and policies
  • Visual management
  • Working with work in-progress limits
  • The impacts of large batches on the flow of work
  • Flow metrics – cycle time, lead time, work item age, WIP limits and throughput

The course uses the getKanban game as the core of the session to simulate the use of Kanban and its four practices and four metrics in a real life context.
